This Uptown Minneapolis Home's Kitchen got a lot bigger and brighter!
In its previous state, this 1920s home near Lake Calhoun had a small kitchen nestled in the middle between the dining room and a crowded back hallway.
The kitchen windows looked out onto the back of the neighbors house.
The back hallway was small and provided very little room for storage of shoes or coats.
The back of the house was tapered and needed to be reconfigured!
A rear addition allowed relocation of the kitchen to the back of the house and freed up space to add both a 3/4 bath and office!
The kitchen also hosts a bar area for entertaining guests and family.
We added a pantry along the new/old exposed chimney restoring some of the original charm of the home.
Reconfiguration of the space allowed for the addition of both a home office and a 3/4 bath to the first floor.
The configuration of this home has been greatly improved and all with only a tiny addition off the back.
Last but not least, we also updated the upstairs bathroom as part of this remodel.
The above home is featured on the upcoming Minneapolis St. Paul Home Tour on April 25-26. Located at 3543 Humboldt Ave in South Minneapolis. Staff from Otogawa-Anschel will be present both days to answer any questions about this home or upcoming remodeling projects.
