Calm Craftsman

This beautiful kitchen remodel explores the relationships between spaces and people. Removing all of the upper cabinets in the work area fills the room with natural light and frees up the entire counter for a work surface. Honed reclaimed granite gives a soft matte surface that lends itself to the gentle tones of the quarter-sawn oak cabinetry. Two additional sections of cabinetry were created opposite the work area for storage, more static tasks, and a home for the microwave.

The banquet and table are all designed for the space and include additional storage under the seats and a recess for the family dog’s food and water bowls. The entire space feels calm and connected. Room for the family to cook and converse at the same time.
